These are the Words to Retire in 2024

Dec 18, 2023 Samantha McGarry

Hot take: 2023 was a vibe, right?

So much went down that was, literally, unprecedented

Barbenheimer, kenough, girl math, lazy girl jobs, and Taylor Swift eras were the talk of TikTok.

AI monopolized the headlines …. creating hallucinations, deepfakes, mis/disinformation, and boardroom dramas at Open AI.

On social, there was a mass exodus from X, while Threads became a new safe space.

At work, we stacked hands, leaned in to the art of the possible, leveraged, curated, touched base, circled back, and double-clicked on everything that was data-driven, even as there was a lot to unpack at the end of the day and too many asks to attend to – like 1000%.

Meanwhile, hate and hatred grew unabashedly ….

But, call me delulu or heart-centered, I still believe we can and should be better in 2024.

P.S. If you didn’t catch my drift ….. The words to retire in 2024 are in bold!

P.P.S.  Don’t remember which words we retired last year? You can check them out here.)
