I am incredibly excited to announce that Tina Cassidy has joined InkHouse as our chief content officer and senior vice president. Accomplished author, former journalist, crisis communications expert, social media enthusiast, mother – I’ve only begun to describe Tina. It’s extraordinarily rare to find the right combination of expertise, demeanor and approach in one person, but we did.
Tina joins InkHouse as we look ahead to 2012 and begin counting the blessings of 2011, for which we are grateful in such a tough economy. And to help us continue to provide great service to our clients, while riding the waves of the content marketing evolution, we embarked on a search to find the right person to help us lead and shape that growth. Tina marks our 25th employee milestone.
A former journalist who worked for a wire service, a weekly business publication and a major metro daily paper – The Boston Globe – as well as magazines in and papers in the US and abroad, Tina brings first-hand experience and insights into working with the press. As a PR professional, she shares our views about how the industry is changing. Content has grabbed the spotlight on a very crowded center stage. As chief content officer, Tina will help us map this bumpy landscape and evolve our offerings to help communicators understand how content can raise a differentiated viewpoint above the chaos of 140 characters and status updates. In her words, she will help our teams develop compelling content that reflects “the voice, vibe and goals of the organization for which they are written.”
Tina has the advantage of understanding the power of content from a variety of vantages points. After her journalism career, Tina published the internationally acclaimed book Birth: The Surprising History of How We Are Born (follow her on Twitter @historyofbirth as well as @tinacassidy2). She was part of the popular Ricki Lake documentary “The Business of Being Born,” and her second book on Jacqueline Onassis will be published by HarperCollins next March.
A very warm welcome to you, Tina. Your passion for your work, wisdom well beyond the realm of PR, and powerful yet quiet confidence are a true rarity. We’re excited about what we will do together.
Since the early days working around her kitchen table, Beth has grown Inkhouse into one of the top independent PR agencies in the country. She’s been named a Top Woman in PR by PR News, a Top 25 Innovator by PRovoke, and an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year finalist. Beth designed Inkhouse’s signature Storytelling Workshop to mirror the literary hero’s journey and to unearth the emotional connections that bind an audience to a brand or idea. She also uses narratives to build Inkhouse’s culture, most recently through two books of employee essays, “Hindsight 2020” and “Aren’t We Lucky?”
