Three Questions with Joseph Panettieri of ChannelE2E and MSSP Alert

Aug 01, 2019 Maddie Meuse

In continuation of our special “Black Hat: Under the Hood” content series, we are pleased to share our latest Q&A with Vice President at After Nines Inc. and Co-Founder and Editor of ChannelE2E and MSSP Alert, Joseph Panettieri. We sat down with the veteran journalist to learn more on how to make the most of your time and stand out from the crowd at Black Hat Las Vegas

Q: What are you most excited about ahead of Black Hat 2019?

[Joseph Panettieri]: I am most excited for the opportunity to network with MSPs (managed IT service providers), MSSPs (managed security services providers) and cybersecurity consulting firms, which attracts me to the conference every year.

Q: In your opinion, what makes a vendor stand out from the crowd at marquee cybersecurity events like Black Hat?

[Joseph Panettieri]: Vendors that always catch my attention specifically understand how to engage channel partners, MSPs and MSSPs with recurring revenue opportunities and multi-tenant platforms. The multi-tenant features are absolutely mandatory for channel partners and service providers that want to remotely manage and protect multiple customers from a single dashboard.

Q: What’s one tip you’d like to share with our readers who may be attending Black Hat this year?

[Joseph Panettieri]: Pace yourself. Schedule meetings for every hour on the hour, leaving yourself at least 20 minutes to get to your next meeting. Make sure your meeting schedule includes downtime daily to organize your notes, update your LinkedIn contacts, and thank every contact with whom you meet.

Thank you Joe for taking the time to speak with us and we look forward to seeing you at the show!
